Pre-K Counts

What is Pre-K Counts?

Pre-K Counts is a Pennsylvania Pre-Kindergarten program for children ages 3 and 4 whose family income is 300% or below the federal poverty level.

What can I expect from a PA Pre-K Counts classroom?

  • Teachers with a four-year degree in early childhood education and expertise in teaching young children.
  • Individualized education using an accredited curriculum to help your child grow academically and socially.
  • Help you and your child adjust to Pre-Kindergarten and smoothly transition to Kindergarten.
  • A small class size (no more than 20 students per teacher and one assistant) so that your child can have plenty of one-on-one time.
  • Parents are welcome to volunteer and be involved in all aspects of their child's education.
  • Pre-K classes are in session five days per week, five hours per day.

How much does PA Pre-K Counts cost?

The PA Pre-K Counts program is FREE for families.

How can I enroll my child?

Call our office at 271-3268 ext. 3700 to schedule an appointment.  Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

You will need to have the following paperwork ready for your first appointment with our staff:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Income (W-2 forms, 3-4 recent pay stubs, income tax form, print-out from domestic relations, private child support letter from parent signed and dated, letter for SSI)
  • Insurance Information or Medical Assistance Number
  • Doctor and Dentist Name, Address, and Phone Number
  • Immunization Record
