Dr. Molly Nied, Superintendent
Molly Nied is a proud graduate of Danville Area High School and very excited and thankful to have the opportunity to serve the district in the capacity of Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Nied earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and elementary education from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. She earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi and her Doctorate in Education from Union University.
Dr. Nied began her career as an elementary teacher in the Allentown City School District. She also was an elementary school teacher in the Shelby County School District in Memphis, TN. From 2005-2009 Dr. Nied served as the Principal of Danville Elementary School in the Danville Area School District. From 2009-2019 Dr. Nied was a leader at Memphis Teacher Residency, a non-profit teacher training program that was continuously rated the top teacher preparation program in the state of TN throughout Dr. Nied’s tenure there. In 2019 Dr. Nied and her family moved back to the Danville community where she served as the CSIU’s Chief Academic Officer and Assistant Executive Director and the Executive Director of the Danville Area Community Center. On November 14, 2022 Dr. Nied began serving the Danville Area School District as Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Nied is married to Andy, also a graduate of Danville Area High School. They are the proud parents of Jill, Sam, and Izzy. In her free time Dr. Nied enjoys watching her children’s sports and activities, coaching soccer, running, reading, and time outdoors.
