General Overview of Federal Programs

The Danville Area School District proudly uses federal funding, primarily from Title I, Title II, Title III and Title IV, to enrich the learning experience for all students. These programs are essential for providing a well-rounded and equitable education, ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed.

Title I, Part A: Partnering for Student Success

Title I, Part A is a key provision of the federal law, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Its main goal is to promote strong partnerships between schools and the families of students who are served by the Title I program. Danville Primary School is a Title I-funded school. We receive this federal funding to provide additional academic resources and support that help all our students at DPS meet challenging state academic standards and to close achievement gaps.

Title II, Part A: Investing in Our Educators here at DASD 

The Danville Area School District strategically uses Title II, Part A funding to invest in the professional growth of our teachers and school leaders. This federal resource helps ensure a highly effective team in every classroom by supporting professional development for our teachers, class size reduction and recruiting and retaining the very best educators for our students.

Title III: Supporting our English Learners

Title III federal funding provides supplemental support to help our English Learners (ELs) become proficient in English and achieve the same high academic standards as their peers. We use this funding for specialized language programs, professional training for our teachers of ELs, and initiatives that help us engage with and support our EL families.

Title IV, Part A: Well-Rounded Education and Technology

The Danville Area School District uses Title IV, Part A funding to provide a comprehensive and safe learning environment, supporting a well-rounded education with diverse subjects and activities, ensuring our schools are safe and supportive, and enhancing the use of technology to improve teaching and learning.
