Getting Started Information for ESL Families

 Start and End Times of School Day 2020-2021 school year

• Danville Primary: 8:25 AM. - 3:10 P.M.
• Liberty Valley Elementary: 8:25 AM - 3:10 P.M.
• Middle schools: 8:05 AM. - 2:50 P.M.
• High school: 8:00 AM. - 2:45 P.M.

 Transportation

Transportation information will be provided at your child’s school. Transportation to and from school falls into the following categories:

• Bus:  Arrive at the bus stop 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time
• Walk:  Contact school for policies
• Parent (car):  Contact school for policies

 Attendance

Please be sure your child arrives at school on time. If your child is:

• Late: Report to the office with a parent for sign-in
• Absent/Sick: Call your child's school to report that they will be absent
• Excuse: Send in an excused note within 48 hours of your child’s absence.

Lunch Information

To manage your child's school lunch account, go to the School Cafe website at  https://www.schoolcafe.com/ This program allows you to:

• Deposit money into your child's school meal account
• View your child's account balance
• View a 90-day history of your child's purchases and payments
• Request automatic email notification when your child's account balance is low.
• See school menus each month

Monitor Student Progress

Parents, guardians, and students can view a variety of information here, such as:

• Current school year report cards with benchmark progress (Grades K-5)
• Current school year report card and grades (Grades 6-12)
• Ongoing class work progress (Grades 6-12)
• Attendance

Health and Safety

Keep your child home if:

• Fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
• Vomiting/Diarrhea
• Rash or sores
• Red eyes with drainage

   The nurse will call you if your child becomes sick at school. If your child needs to be treated by a physician, here are some options in Danville:
